Brandied Glazed Ham

Email Print PDF

A Southern Sunday supper favorite – this golden glazed ham is perfect for a brunch buffet.

INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 cups packed dark-brown sugar
1/3 cup brandy
2 rounded tablespoons grainy mustard
1 bone-in ham, spiral cut (about 6 pounds), fully cooked

METHOD:

In a small saucepan, combine sugar, brandy and mustard. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook until glaze thickens slightly, about 3 minutes

Preheat oven to 300°F degrees.

Place ham in a roasting pan or on a rimmed baking sheet and cover tightly with foil. Bake until an instant-read thermometer inserted in thickest part reads 145°F., about 1 hour.

Remove ham from oven and brush ham generously with glaze to coat all exposed areas.

Increase oven temperature to 350°F.

Return ham to oven and bake uncovered until glaze is sticky and ham is browned, about 35 minutes.

Serve warm or at room temperature.
